Although these two terms are often used interchangeably, there are subtle differences to them. In the YouTube video below I’ll explain the difference so you can figure out what type of eater you are – especially if you’ve been dieting for years!
In a nutshell, emotional eating is when you use food to soothe yourself, reward yourself or suppress an emotion such as stress, anxiety, boredom, happiness, anger. Please note: if you do suffer from an eating disorder, please seek professional help to support and guide you to a healthier place by reaching out to your doctor, local dietician or psychologist. Find out more information via The National Association for Anorexia Nervosa
